FAQs

Is dyno tuning worth it?

Absolutely. While a custom ECU tune can increase peak horsepower, most riders notice the biggest improvements in throttle response, smoothness, drivability and confidence.

How much horsepower will I gain?

Most motorcycles see around a 5% increase in peak rear-wheel horsepower, depending on the modifications fitted. The biggest gains are often in the mid-range where you use the bike most.

Why doesn't my bike make the same power as someone else's?

Horsepower is measured at the rear wheel, so results are influenced by tyre condition, tyre pressure, chain adjustment, sprocket sizes and drivetrain losses. Two identical motorcycles can produce different dyno figures.

Will remapping fix a poorly running bike?

A custom map isn't a magic wand. The motorcycle must be mechanically healthy before tuning. Our job is to optimise the fuelling and electronic systems to match your bike's hardware and intended use.

Do you only tune race bikes?

No. While DART Motorsport is heavily involved in motorcycle racing and works with riders from club level through to national competition, we also tune a wide range of road motorcycles.

Whether you ride a sports bike, naked bike, adventure bike or track bike, the same principles apply. Every ECU map is developed specifically for your motorcycle, your modifications and how you use it.

For road riders, the focus is often on smoother throttle response, improved rideability and stronger mid-range performance. For race bikes, we can also optimise the electronic rider aids, throttle strategies and power delivery to maximise grip, consistency and lap times.
